     Over the past 20 years, Gaye has mastered the medium of soft pastel.  In the last several years, she has

included exploring her artistic vision with acrylics as well.  Her work is distinguished by her signature use of

strong  light  and vibrant color.  While subject matter is diverse, the artist’s approach and vision is consistent.

      “Light dances, bounces, reflects and leaps. It warms, reveals and explains form.  I must  confess, I am

 hooked .I don’t know what my paintings will be about ten years from now, but right now, they are about my

delight and fascination with light and color. My paintings are simply an expression of this”

     Gaye attended various art institutions for the first two years of her art education and then pursued the

path of gaining mentorship to help develop her skills.  Gaye has been awarded senior signature status

with the Federation of Canadian Artists as well as the Pastel Society of Canada.  Her work has been

published internationally on numerous occasions, including being the featured Canadian master pastellist

in the Dec 2003 Pastel Artist International Magazine.  She is an award winning artist at local, national and

international levels.
