Louise Lauzon was born in Montreal in 1956 where she continues to reside. At the age of 15 Louise had the opportunity to study with Brother Jerome at Notre-Dame College. She credits his friendship and the time of apprenticeship with such a great master as the basis of her own artistic style. She has also been inspired by Jean-Paul Lemieux, Gaugin, McEwen, Marcel Barbeau and Toulouse-Lautrec among others.
Lauzon has developed her own style which she describes as “personal figurative” and which she follows when painting portraits, landscapes and abstract works. Her use of medium includes acrylics but also inks and watercolours.
Louise is represented by a number of Canadian galleries and many collections, both public and private, own her work.
