About The Artist

Ron Hedrick was born in 1942 in Vancouver. He spent most of his childhood growing up in various parts of British Columbia, painting in his spare time as a casual hobby.

In 1968 Ron took his first instructions in painting from Karl Wood, but didn't begin to paint full time until he moved to Kamloops in 1981. The natural beauty of the area inspired him to paint on a much more frequent basis and his interest in art became the prime factor in his life.

He joined the Kamloops Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists in 1982. Between the encouragement that the Federation gave him and the frequent trips to the library that he took to study art, his knowledge of the visual arts increased and became apparent in his paintings.

One year later Ron was readily accepted into a gallery in Kamloops, where he had his first successful showing. Since then he has had his work on display in several prominent galleries across North America.
Ron now lives in Mission, B.C. with his wife and daughter, painting the landscapes and nostalgic scenery that he has become known for full time.
