About The Artist

Born and raised in Quebec, David began drawing and painting even before he started school. He later studied and honed his skills at the University of Ottawa, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Canadian Conservation Institute, and McGill University, where he obtained a Master's degree in Art Education. David spent several years teaching art and has been painting full time since 1994. He is rapidly gaining recognition for his dynamic and original landscapes and "Treescapes." The stillness of the wilderness as rendered in his paintings is juxtaposed with the dramatic play of compositional elements, light and colour. Contrast is the underlying theme throughout.
