Lorna was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1947. She studied art at the University of Alberta
from 1967 to1969. She and her husband Lewis have resided in Calgary since 1972. They have
a son, a daughter and two granddaughters who are sixth generation Canadians. Their ancestors
John Dockstader and his wife Margaret arrived in Hastings County, Canada West, in 1801.
Lorna especially enjoys plein-air painting in oils, and she often travels Canada to obtain reference
material for her work.
She is a senior signature member of The Federation of Canadian artists (SFCA) and was elected
as a Premier Pastellist of Canada by the Pastel Society of Canada (PPC). She has exhibited in
galleries since 1991.
